귀도 어두워져 거리에서 나는 소리도 잘 들리지 않을 거이며,

노랫소리도 거의 듣지 못할 것이며, 맷돌 소리가 희미해질 것이다.

새가 첫 노래를 부를 때에 네가 깰 것이다.

Remember him before your legs the guards of your house start to tremble,

and before your shoulders the strong men stoop.

Remember him before your teeth your few remaining servants stop grinding;

and before your eyes the women looking through the windows see dimly.

Remember him before the door to life’s opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades.
